Why one metro, on purpose
Plenty of lighting companies will quote you from three hours away. It looks like ambition and it behaves like a problem, because permanent lighting is not a product you buy once and never speak to anybody about again. It is a fixture on your house with electronics in it, and at some point in the next decade something will want attention.
When the installer is local, that is a phone call and a visit. When the installer is a regional operation running crews out of another city, it is a ticket, a queue, and a conversation about whether your job is worth the drive. We would rather have fewer customers who can all actually reach us.
What is different about lighting houses here
Working one metro means knowing its housing stock, and Albuquerque’s is specific. Flat roofs with stucco parapets in the older valley and downtown streets. Concrete tile across the newer Northeast Heights, Ventana Ranch and Rio Rancho subdivisions. Brick with scalloped trim through the established Heights. Territorial portals and stepped masses almost everywhere. Each of those wants the track mounted differently, and we go through it in detail on the roofline and eave page.
Then there is the climate, which is the same across the whole metro and unusually hard on anything outdoors: over five thousand feet of elevation, more than three hundred days of sun, and a monsoon that drives water sideways into every roof edge from July onward. It is why we are strict about mechanical fixing rather than adhesive, and it is covered on the hardware page.
What you can expect wherever you are in the metro

Coverage questions
Do you charge more the further out I am?
Not within the metro. Out toward the East Mountains, Placitas or the far end of the Los Lunas run, travel becomes a real cost on a multi-day job and we will say so on the estimate rather than burying it. There is never a surprise line item added later.
I am outside all of these. Will you still come?
Ask. If you are within reasonable reach of the metro we will usually look at it, especially if there is more than one property. What we will not do is quote a job four hours away and then be unable to service it properly in three years, so occasionally the honest answer is no.
Why not list every neighborhood as its own page?
Because those pages are almost always the same page with the name swapped, they are useless to read, and Google has got very good at recognizing them. One honest page that says where we go is more useful to you and does not put the site at risk.
How quickly can you get out for an estimate?
Outside the autumn rush, usually within a few days. From October to December it stretches, sometimes a lot. We will give you a real date rather than a hopeful one.
